    What’s in a name? Well, since 2014, the name of all Infiniti models includes a Q. Sedans, coupes, and convertibles are prefixed with the letter Q, while crossover and SUV models carry a QX badge. More than just simplicity and clarity lie behind the new nomenclature, though these were important considerations. There is an inspirational element as well. The Q emphasizes the carmaker’s performance heritage, harkening back to the Q45, the iconic flagship sedan that launched Infiniti in 1989.

    J.D. Power & Associates Quality Study

    In the J.D. Power and Associates 2015 Initial Quality Study, Infiniti improved to fifth place from its rank of 23rd last year. This was the largest rank improvement of any brand. When only premium brands were considered, Infiniti placed third. Among the individual vehicles, the Infiniti QX70 and – for the second year in a row – the QX80 were ranked at the top in their segments.
